The Foundation students were extremely lucky to receive hand knitted teddy bears made by Carol Elswyk and Krys Broeren. These talented parishioners named each teddy bear and gifted them to each child in Foundation in their first week of school. The children are using these teddy bears while undertaking meditation each afternoon and when they need some extra support during the day. Thank you so much Carol and Krys, we love our teddies!
Dear Parents
St Mary’s community have had a wonderful start to the 2023 school year with 44 new Foundation students and their families excitedly starting their journey into school life. The children have settled beautifully and are enjoying all of the new experiences life at school brings. We welcomed several new students throughout the school and several new staff members. We have started our year with 11 classes, one class more than we had last year. We have 230 students and 33 staff. We have welcomed many new families to our school and look forward to supporting them as they get to know us and our school community.
Cory Monckton took on the role of Deputy Principal in week 2 of Term 3 last year when Julian Blackford left to take on the role of Principal at St Mary’s Maffra. Cory was seconded to our school from St Ita’s in Drouin. Cory is now our ongoing Deputy Principal and has also taken on the role of Religious Education Leader and Sports Coordinator. We are very blessed to have Cory on our team and know that he will bring a wealth of knowledge, experience and passion to his role and to our school.
We are looking forward to the year ahead and all it will bring, and I thank you for the continued support you give to your child and to our school community.
Kind regards
Lisa

A special welcome to our new School Families! Our Craft Group has been operating for many years. We meet every Tuesday in the School Hall at 9.00am and we make gifts for the three stalls we hold each year – Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and Christmas. At these events we sell presents for the children to buy for their parents and prices range from $1 to $5. All the money we raise goes to the School.
We have various material, trims etc that we use to make goods for these stalls, however we are always looking for donations of suitable goods plus items for the Raffles that are held in conjunction with the stalls.
Please feel free to come along any Tuesday and see what we do and join in. There is always time for a cuppa and a chat!
