Here are some photos of our grade reading the letters from their Pen Pals and writing their own letters.
Dear Parents,
While in some ways it feels as though our new school year has just begun, at the same time we realise that we are about to enter Week 8 and the school holidays will be upon us before we know it.
We are so proud of the way our students have settled into the new year and the way our staff have created inclusive and supportive class groups who continue to engage in high quality learning and relationship building. I take this opportunity to thank our Year 6 students for their dedication and leadership, especially in their roles as Buddies to our Foundation students. We also thank our Mini Oblates who give of themselves to support the staff and students every recess and lunchtime in our school playground. The feedback from our Mini Oblates has been most positive and they continue to tell me that they are really enjoying the opportunity to support our school. They, and we, are so proud of the difference they are making. The staff, students and parents have provided such positive feedback on all aspects of the work the Mini Oblates and our Year 6 leaders are doing throughout the school.
Several of our students are preparing for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. We thank you for the support you are giving your children and I thank our parents and Fr Daniel for helping to prepare our children for this special sacrament.
As we continue through this season of Lent, we share with the children the importance of thinking about what this special liturgical time means, and we focus on doing things to make a difference in the lives of others. The learning at school can be shared at home by finding ways to show your children how they can be living examples of our faith through finding ways to show kindness and generosity to others.
We are having our ‘Welcome BBQ’ on Tuesday March 28 from 5.00pm – 7.00pm. We encourage all families to come and join us to get to know each other and share what it means to be a part of our St Mary’s community. There will not be any cost to families as this BBQ is our gift to you to enable our families to come together to celebrate our school. We would love to see as many families as possible joining us for this lovely evening.
Kind regards
Lisa
Easter Raffle for Project Compassion
At St Mary's we have an Easter raffle every year and all money is donated to Caritas for Project Compassion.
With your generosity we can continue this Easter raffle tradition. A donation of one Easter egg per family would be much appreciated so that we can make up the prizes for the raffle.
Please send along your donation with your child or place it in the basket that will be made available at the front office. A book of ten raffle tickets has already gone home to families. Cost of each ticket is 50 cents.
The Raffle will be drawn on Tuesday 4th April - could we please have all egg donations and tickets back by Tuesday 28th please.
Thank you for your generosity. 5/6 teachers and Mini Oblates.
Now that the AGM is out of the way and all necessary roles have been filled, The Parents and Friends Committee would like to extend an invitation to all parents that might be interested in being “general committee” members to a catch up on Monday 20th March at 7pm in the staffroom.
We will provide the nibblies and would love to have a casual chat with anyone interested in putting forward their thoughts on fundraising and items you may think are valuable for the kids to fundraise towards.
Perfect for those who are scared off by the idea of an AGM because you don’t want to commit to being President, Secretary or Treasurer, but might like to still be involved when you can. Even if you can’t attend many meetings but would be happy to be called on to lend a hand when we need. We would love to expand our committee to get a good representation from parents that would like to have a say in what we do and be involved with the school. Hope to see you there!
Please RSVP to Sandi by Thursday 16th March for catering purposes. Thank you.

Car Park Rules: Speed Limit – Walking pace only (10km)
All cars must park in the car parking bays unless using the ‘Kiss and Go’. Parents may drop off or collect children at the front of the school in the ‘Kiss & Go’. The ‘Kiss & Go’ is designed for parents who wish to drive in and pick up their children in a safe way, it is not designed to be a waiting bay for parents.
When parking in the centre bays parents must accompany children from the car to the main entrance in the morning and from the main entrance to the car in the afternoon via the carpark crossing. A number of children have been observed walking across the carpark crossing (between the centre bays and the church) on their own, this is unsafe. Please walk your child safely across the carpark crossing.
Side parking bays - parents do not have to accompany children, but must ensure children use the footpath provided. Children and adults must never cut across the car parking area.
You may notice that on the exit side of the carpark there are 3 disabled carparks designated for our 3 students in wheelchairs. Please ensure that these are kept free before and after school so we can ensure that those children have safe access to their parents vehicles.
Please do not park on the grass area in the church car park. Thank you.
