Year 5/6B have started 2023 with much enthusiasm and are engaging in their learning, making new friends and eager to be leaders in our school.

We have been working on our BEST approach in our learning and the relationships that we have with our peers, teachers and school community. We have been spending time talking and examining what being our BEST means and would look like in our classrooms and our school.

BEST is an acronym for:

 Here are some of the ways that we know will help us to be and do our BEST.

• Use whole body listening. When someone talks to you, listen with your eyes, your ears, your mouth, your hands, your feet, your brain, your body and your heart.
• Ask questions, be kind and helpful. Socialise
• Make good choices about who you work with.
• Focus on and ask questions about your learning.
• Take on feedback and make good choices.
• Talk to people and interact with them.
• Make eye contact with the people you are talking too.
• Be a good listener.
• Stay on task.
• Set goals.
• Have a growth mindset.
• Learn from your errors and move forward.
