This week the Year 2’s has been working on extending our sentences by adding an adverb.

An Adverb is a word that adds to a verb (a doing word). It describes a verb.

Adverbs give us more information about verbs. 
Adverbs add to a verb by giving us information like howwhenwhere, or why the action is happening.

Here are some examples of sentences with adverbs from our class:

The little piglet was quickly eating the blackberry pie. – Sofia

The little pig was happily eating pie. – Willow

The little piglet was slowly eating because she’s hungry. – Emi

The little pig was greedily eating raspberry pie. - Holly

The little piglet was inappropriately eating the blackberry pie. – Hugo

The little piglet was carefully eating the strawberry pie. – Kayden

The little pig was sneakily eating the blackberry pie. – Tommy
