Principal's Report

Dear Parents,

We can’t believe that we are midway through this term already!

We recently had our School Review process, which was a very positive experience and reinforced for us that we are definitely heading in the right direction and are creating a learning environment where the children are valued, heard, supported and have the opportunity to thrive.

We had our Whole School Approach to Positive Behaviour Support (WSAPBS) school closure, where the teachers participated in the Youth Mental Health First Aid training course. It was a very challenging, powerful and valuable experience for all of us.

We are in the process of completing our enrolments for the 2025 school year. We will be having two Foundation classes next year, with lovely new families joining our school community. I have been very busy with school tours over the past weeks and I will soon begin our ‘Get to know you’ meetings with our new families.

Our Year 6 students went on an excursion to the National Gallery of Victoria. They caught the train to Melbourne and had a wonderful day exploring the city and the National Gallery. The students were impeccably behaved and thoroughly enjoyed the day.

On Thursday August 15th we celebrated we celebrated a very special Feast Day, the Feast of the Assumption of Mary. On this day we celebrate Mary as the mother of Jesus, a loving and devoted Mum who loved Jesus with all her heart and supported him on his journey, always saying YES to whatever God asked of her. On this day we celebrate that Mary was taken to heaven to be with God. Our Year 3-6 students joined the parishioners at Mass to celebrate this special day.

Next Friday, August 23rd, we will be celebrating Book Week with a magical dress up and activity day. The theme for this year is ‘Reading is Magic’. We encourage all children to dress up and join our Book Day Parade at 9.00am. All families are welcome to come along and enjoy the parade. The day will be filled with wonderful activities that celebrate the importance and joy of reading.

On Monday the 2nd of September we will be celebrating our wonderful Dads and the special people in the lives of our children. This is an exciting time for our children as they look forward to sharing this special morning with their Dads/special people. We will be having a delicious breakfast followed by a Prayer Gathering in the church, where the Dads/special people will watch a beautiful PowerPoint depicting our Dads/special people with their children. This is a cherished celebration in our school and we look forward to seeing lots of Dads/special people sharing this wonderful occasion with your children.

Kind regards
Lisa
