Principal Report
Dear Parents and Carers,
Meet Our New Pope: Leo XIV
With a warm smile and the words “Peace be with all of you” spoken in Italian to the crowds in St. Peter’s Square, Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost began his papal journey as Pope Leo XIV - the first native English speaker ever elected to the papacy.
Now, as Pope Leo XIV, he brings a missionary heart, a passion for teaching, and a deep commitment to peace and unity. Archbishop Anthony Fisher of Sydney describes him as a “man of peace, a unifier, ad a humble servant” devoted to community and simplicity of life.
Please keep Pope Leo XIV in your prayers as he steps into this extraordinary role, guiding our Church with wisdom, compassion, and faith.
Sacrament of Confirmation
We are in the process of preparing our children for the Sacrament of Confirmation which will be celebrated on Thursday, May 29 at St Kieran’s church. This is an exciting time for the Year 6 students who are making the Sacrament of Confirmation, and we ask for your prayers of support as they prepare for this special sacrament.
Mother’s Day
We celebrated our wonderful Mums with a breakfast and Mother’s Day Prayer Gathering last Friday. It was a beautiful celebration for our Mums and heartwarming to see the children as they shared breakfast and the Prayer Gathering with their Mums. There were many happy tears shed as the PowerPoint was played, celebrating each child with their Mums.
Our children were very excited to be able to purchase gifts for their Mums from our Mother’s Day stall. We thank our amazing Craft Ladies for the beautiful gifts they have made. They also created the prize packages for our Mother’s Day raffle and ran the stall throughout the day, giving every child an opportunity to purchase a hand picked gift for their Mum. We are so lucky and blessed to have these special people to support our school community.
Catholic Education Week 2025, Diocese of Sale
Friday 16 May - Friday 23 May
Theme: Pilgrims of Hope
Get ready - we’re about to begin a very special week! From Friday 16 May to Friday 23 May, schools across the Diocese of Sale will be celebrating Catholic Education Week.
This year’s theme is Pilgrims of Hope, and it reminds us that we are all on a journey together, walking with Jesus, learning new things, helping others, and sharing joy along the way.
Pope Francis has called 2025 the Jubilee Year of Hope - a time to grow closer to God, show kindness, and remember how much we are loved. During this week, we’ll join with our classmates, teachers, and families to celebrate our faith through prayer, fun activities, and special moments together.
Catholic Education Week is a time to be proud of our schools, our friends, and the amazing things we can do when we follow Jesus with open hearts, kind words and caring actions.
Let’s walk together as Pilgrims of Hope - with kindness and courage!
