Principal Report
Dear Parents and Carers,
What a joyful and memorable day we’ve had celebrating St Mary’s Day together as a school community. Our celebrations began this morning with a beautiful Prayer Gathering in the church. It was a very special celebration with all of our students and staff coming together in prayer and song, giving thanks for our wonderful school and the spirit that binds us together.
During the Prayer Gathering, we also shared a heartwarming PowerPoint presentation that celebrated the many special moments and milestones of our school year so far. It was a lovely way to reflect on what makes St Mary’s such a nurturing and inspiring place to learn and grow.
This afternoon we continue the celebration with St Mary’s Got Talent. The children amazed us during the audition process – their creativity, courage and energy shone through in every performance. It was no easy task selecting the final acts, with talent across so many different areas - singing, dancing, magic, comedy and more. We are all looking forward to an entertaining and exciting show this afternoon.
We also want to acknowledge our students who recently represented St Mary’s at the Winter School Sports. Their sportsmanship, team spirit and effort were outstanding and we are very proud of them.
A big thank you to all families who supported our Pie Drive fundraiser. It was a great success, raising an impressive amount of money that will go towards purchasing more sports equipment for the children to enjoy.
Next week is the last week of the term and the children will finish on Thursday at 3.00pm.
I wish all of our families a wonderful, relaxing and fun-filled school holidays and we look forward to seeing you all again as we begin Term Three on Tuesday, July 22nd as we have a school closure day on Monday, July 21 for the staff to participate in a Professional Learning Day.
As always, I thank you for your ongoing support of all we do at St Mary’s. Days like today remind us just how lucky we are to be part of such a vibrant and caring school community.
On this special day, we offer a prayer for our school as we celebrate Mary.
Prayer for St Mary’s Feast Day
Loving God,
We thank You for the gift of Mary, Jesus’ mother,
a woman of great faith, courage and compassion.
May her example inspire us to listen with open hearts,
to serve with gentle hands,
and to trust in Your love each day.
As we celebrate our special St Mary’s Feast Day,
we give thanks for our school community,
for the friendships we share,
the learning we experience,
and the care we show for one another.
Help us to walk in Mary’s footsteps,
with kindness, humility and hope.
May our school continue to be a place
where faith is alive,
hearts are open,
and everyone is welcomed and valued.
St Mary, pray for us.
Amen.
Warm regards
Lisa
