Principal Report

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you to all the families who met with their child’s teachers last week. We truly value the opportunity to connect and work together. Strong communication and collaboration between home and school are essential for creating a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment for our students.

Book Week Celebration on Monday

We are excited to be celebrating Book Week on Monday with the theme: "Book an Adventure".
Children are invited to come to school dressed as their favourite book character or in a costume that reflects the adventure theme.

We’ll be kicking off the day with our Book Parade at 9.00am, and parents and carers are warmly invited to attend. We look forward to seeing the creativity and imagination that Book Week always brings!

Bullying No Way: National Week of Action (11–15 August 2025)

This week is Bullying No Way Week – a national initiative that highlights the important role schools, families, and communities play in building environments where every young person feels accepted, respected, and included.

This year’s message: Be Brave. Make Change.

Bullying prevention is everyone’s responsibility. It takes a whole community to create change and foster kindness and respect - both inside and outside the school gate.

Our work with Mindfull Aus is a wonderful support for our school in Identifying, Controlling and Expressing issues and concerns that may be happening. This provides the children with the language to use and the understanding that it is so important to use our voices to speak up against inappropriate and hurtful behaviour.

Here are a few ways we’re encouraging students to take action:

  • Be Bold - Stand up for what's right, safely and respectfully. Courage isn’t about confrontation; it’s about making positive choices.
  • Be Kind - Small acts of kindness make a big difference. Kindness helps build a sense of belonging and connection.
  • Speak Up - If you see bullying, don’t stay silent. Be an upstander - someone who supports and helps others.

We also remind students to think before they speak or post online. Our words can either build people up or bring them down, so let’s choose kindness.

Together, as students, staff, families, and the wider community, we can make a difference and help stop bullying.

Immediate Crisis Support in Australia:

The Feast of the Assumption – 15 August

On August 15, we celebrate the Feast of the Assumption, a significant day in the Catholic Church that honours Mary, the mother of Jesus.

This special feast recognises Mary’s deep faith, her willingness to say “yes” to God, and her unwavering commitment to serving others. The Assumption reminds us of Mary’s role in God’s mission and celebrates her being welcomed into God’s presence.

Thank you for your continued support as we work together to nurture a kind, inclusive and faith-filled community for our children.

Warm regards,

Lisa
