Dear Parents,

Today we are celebrating Teacher Appreciation Day at school. This is an important day for our school as we acknowledge and thank our wonderful teachers for all they do to make St Mary’s school such a wonderful place for our children to learn and grow. We know how hard they work and how dedicated they are to making sure that every child is supported and able to reach their potential. Their care for the students and their families is to be celebrated, so today we thank our wonderful teachers and share with you how much we appreciate all they do to make our school such a special place to be.

We have been very busy updating and improving our playground over the past weeks. We have been replacing all the bark in our back playground, concreting the pathway to the cubby and to the bus shelter, including putting a concrete floor in the bus shelter. The playground equipment has been updated and the bark area has been extended to ensure a wide soft fall area around the equipment. The sandpits and the gaga pit have new sand and some trees and bushes have been removed or trimmed. We have new goal posts and pads for football and extra playing areas for the children to use. The playground looks fantastic and the children are excited with all of the changes.

We are preparing for the Sacrament of First Communion, with the children learning all about this very special sacrament. As a school we all learn about the sacraments at a level appropriate for the children’s understanding. We celebrate with the children who are receiving the Sacrament of First Communion and wish them God’s blessings on their special night.

This week in Grade 1, we have been learning about adding additional information to our sentences by using the conjunctions 'before' and 'after'. Here are some sentences the students wrote on Crazy Sock Day.

Cohen: Before I wear my crazy socks, I do the impossible task of getting up. After I wear my crazy socks, I go to my car to go home.

Mila: Before I wear my crazy socks, I try to find them in my drawer. After I wear my crazy socks I put them in the wash.

Hugo: Before I wear my crazy socks, I put my shirt on. After I wear my crazy socks, I go home and eat dinner.

Amelia: Before I wear my crazy socks, I get out of bed, do my hair and teeth and then the dishwasher. After I wear my crazy socks, I write my sentences.

Carter: Before I wear my crazy socks, I eat my breakfast. After I wear my crazy socks, I go to school.

St Mary's Craft Group

Once again we’ll be having a Christmas Stall for the children to be able by presents for their parents or other special people. Presents will be priced from $2 to $10. We are looking for donations to help with providing a variety of goods for sale. This year the Christmas Stall will be held on THURSDAY 5th DECEMBER.

We look forward to your continued support in our fund raising efforts.

Lunch Orders

Lunch orders are every Tuesday & Thursday. Please make sure you put your child's name, grade and the day the order is for (Tuesday or Thursday) in the note section during checkout. Tuesday orders are due in by 5pm Monday and Thursday orders by 5pm Wednesday.
